A collaborative literacy program in Eau Claire. Programs involved: Western Dairyland Head Start, YMCA (Infant, Toddler Child Care) and Literacy Volunteers - Chippewa Valley. Education at the same site. Full day, full year program for 3-5 year olds offering family literacy and wrap-around child care for 2-5 year olds.

ECAHMAA: Building Bridges for Hmong Youths

The ECAHMAA provides mentoring and tutoring services to Hmong youth during the school year. Building Bridges offers opportunities for students to participate in after-school activities that will increase their academic learning and teach healthy alternatives to alcohol use and underage drinking as well as healthy nutrition.

Family Support Center

Family Support Center empowers all individuals, families, and communities to live free from domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking, and interpersonal violence through education, prevention, and intervention. All services provided are free and confidential. Volunteers are needed for the 24-hour crisis support line, childcare during events, answering phones, and various office tasks.

As a child-placing agency, Family Works Programs, Inc. provides treatment foster care to at-risk children throughout the state of Wisconsin. We license, train, and support foster parents to care for children in the foster family’s home. The job of foster parenting is made easier by our social work staff who visit the foster home frequently, develop treatment plans, and facilitate the child’s treatment team.

Habitat for Humanity

Through our housing program, CVH4H partners with families in the Chippewa Valley to help them build a place they can call home. Habitat Homeowners help build their homes alongside volunteers, and pay an affordable mortgage that works for them. Volunteers can help build homes, take photography, make meals, and do customer service time at the Re-Store recycled home improvement store.

Head Start is a free preschool program for income-eligible families with children ages 3-5. Head Start offers a creative learning environment with age-appropriate activities, healthy meals and snacks, health and nutrition education, and opportunities for parents to be involved.
