Tree Giveaway from Lake Wissota Garden Club

Lake Wissota Garden Club of Chippewa Falls is offering one free native tree to the first 100 visitors to the Irvine Park Native Wildflower Sanctuary. Native trees offered include sugar maple, white swamp oak, red oak, serviceberry, black cherry and American plum.

These WI native trees will improve bird & pollinator habitat in your yard. Join us in this National Garden Club & Wisconsin Garden Club Federation project “Each One – Plant One” encouraging tree plantings. Every tree makes a difference. The best day to plant a tree is today. Lake Wissota Garden Club members will also provide tours of the native spring ephemeral wildflowers in the sanctuary during the tree giveaway. Spring ephemeral wildflowers such as Dutchman’s Breeches, Bloodroot, Virginia bluebells, Hepatica and Spring Beauty will be blooming. You will find these early wildflowers and many others which bloom before the trees leaf out and then will disappear until next spring. Visit lakewissotagardenclub.weebly.com for more information
