Over the weekend of June 21-22, Govin’s Farm (N6134 670th St., Menomonie) held its first-ever Strawberry Festival — complete with strawberry fields ready for picking, farm favorites, and activities for all ages.

The festival was centered around four main competitions: the Jam Contest, Recipe Contest, Pie Eating Contest, and Best Strawberry Outfit Contest.

The latter contest judged four age groups on creativity, theme adherence, design, craftsmanship, and confidence as they competed for the berry best and cutest costumes.

Gift cards and prizes — redeemable at the farm or during future visits — were awarded to the winners of each contest.

The strawberry-themed celebration — complemented by a vendor and craft fair — offered a variety of beverages and treats for attendees. Govin’s Farm featured strawberry-infused baked goods, beverages, and bites, while Carpe Dulce, Yang’s Eggrolls, and Tres Hermanos also continued the theme with their own offerings.

After the festival, the farm's U-pick strawberry hours will continue to be posted online on their website and social media.
