On a night (Friday, April 17th) when most of Eau Claire was enjoying the long running Eau Claire Jazz Festival, a Minneapolis native brought a distinctly different sound to the intimate audience gathered at The Cabin.

“I just want to point out one person in the audience,” said Jourdan Myers, pointing to a young man. “I recognize him from my first show in Eau Claire; I think it’s pretty cool he came to see me again.”

Standing alone, backlit by the colorful frosted glass the venue is known for, Myers begins to drive the plastic keys of her Nord Electro 3. Her brand of keyboard-driven indie pop can best be described as soulful, with wail like lyrics haunting each verse.

Myers played a mixture of music from her albums Ruin me With Love and Chasing the Sunset along with a few cover songs.
