On Tues, Oct 13, the Heyde Center for the Arts presented a group of Japense Taiko Drummers making their first appearance in the US.The group incorporates the folk music of the past with their own music and a touch of modern rhythm and tempo to create drumming themes based in calmness, action and movement. They invite the audience to listen to the sound and imagine the very scenes that provide the backdrop for their performance. The group strives to create an original drum sound as they express the beauty of the sand, ocean and sky. This group has won several awards and championships in competitions throughout Japan.
