Chamber Program Seeks Young Leaders

V1 Staff |

Do you know a high school sophomore who would seize an opportunity to develop his or her leadership skills to help the community? Youth Leadership Eau Claire, a program of the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce, is now accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year. Current sophomores from Altoona, Augusta, Fall Creek, Memorial, North, and Regis high schools are eligible to apply for the program, which will take place during their junior year of high school.

Youth Leadership Eau Claire gives high school juniors a chance to enhance their knowledge and develop leadership skills that will empower and motivate them to become involved and committed to their community. Participants attend a two-day opening retreat in July and then eight one-day program sessions held on school days throughout the school year. All sessions are excused school absences. In addition, the students will complete a group community service project.

The material fee for the program is $100 and includes an overnight retreat, meals, transportation during all sessions, and all other program costs. Scholarships are available for students who need financial assistance.
