2 At-Home Crafts: Valentine's Day Crafts
Project Title: “Pop Up Valentines”
Summary
1. Fold a piece of paper in half and be instructed on how to cut out a pop out heart (or other shape).
2. Use a color wheel (find one on the Internet) to look at analogous (next to each other) and complementary (opposite each other) colors.
3. Kids will choose two analogous or complimentary colors for their Valentine card.
4. Kids will decorate their card with markers, cut paper, or crayons.
Age Level
Project should be easily accomplished by ages 3 and up with help from a grown up.
Approximate Time
Project should be accomplished in 30 minutes or less.
Materials Needed
• Colored construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Color wheel
• Markers
• Crayons
Educational Aspects
• Kids will be learn about analogous and complementary colors.
• Kids will learn how to cut a card so it pops out when opened.

Project Title: “Beaded Shapes”
Summary
1. Bead a colored pipe cleaner.
2. Secure the ends by twisting them together.
3. Shape the pipe cleaner into your favorite shape.
Age Level
Project should be easily accomplished by ages 4 and up with help from a grown-up.
Approximate Time
Project should be accomplished in 30 minutes or less.

• Beads
• Pipe cleaners
Educational Aspects
Kids can practice the fine motor skills needed to bead. They can also practice/learn about making (or bending) different shapes.

Kids can learn how to bead! They can also explore how to make a pattern.
