Lambtastic Saturday

Sally Velleux |

Everyone loves baby animals. Even a grown man starts to "aawwww" when he sees a newly born lamb struggling to stand on its clumsy little legs. Govin's Meat & Berries is a great family-run farm that opens up their barn for two weekends each spring during the peak birthing weeks. I just went last Saturday. In addition to many adorable little lambs and their moms, the farm is home to a 600lb. (currently) pregnant pig and dozens of freshly hatched chicks available for cuddling, one donkey, and several little calves. For $4 you can spend the afternoon soaking up the sights, sounds, and smells of a 55 acre family farm, complete with silos, horse-drawn wagon rides, mud, and oversized bottles of hand sanitizer on the way out of the door. Happy Spring!
