What Do You Want to See in the Next City Manager? City Seeks Your Input...

Tom Giffey |

The City of Eau Claire is looking for your input on what kind of person should replace City Manager Dale Peters, who will retire in May. The city has launched an online survey to “gather feedback and learn what qualities the community most values in this important leadership role,” according to news release.

The City of Eau Claire City Manager Search Community Survey can be found online at polco.us/cityofeauclaire, and paper versions are available at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, Hobbs Ice Arena, and the customer service county at Eau Claire City Hall.

Among other things, the survey asks residents to select the core competencies and leadership skills they would like the next city manager to have, as well as how they would describe an ideal city manager and what they would like the manager to focus his or her attention on.

According to the city, the survey “will be one of several opportunities for people to take an active role in this nationwide search.”

“Our intention is to attract diverse, qualified, and experienced applicants that share the values and goals of our community,” City Council President Terry Weld said.
