Because of the “fantastic” winter weather we’ve experienced early this season, Eau Claire Parks & Recreation has announced that two of its six outdoor skating rinks will open on Friday, December 13. If you’re looking for a great way to start your weekend, the Boyd Park and Pinehurst rinks will be prepared for those willing to brave the temperatures.

Skating is free and skaters are welcome outside of the posted hours given safety precautions are understood.

Remaining outdoor city rinks (Roosevelt, Putnam Heights, Pinehurst, Demmler, and Sam Davey) will open between December 26–January 1. Times of operation vary by location.
