Volcano Choir announces Eau Claire show (and you can win tickets)

V1 Staff |

Big news. We're excited to break the news that Justin Vernon's new band Volcano Choir is coming to Eau Claire for a show in UW-Eau Claire's Schofield Auditorium on Saturday, October 19, joined by special guest/local band Adelyn Rose.

Volcano Choir – Vernon's collaborative project with Milwaukee band Collections Of Colonies Of Bees – started as a one-off, experimental project in 2009. After a short tour of Japan, though, the band started to get serious, and as Vernon winded down from the last Bon Iver release the band prepped their new record Repave. The album has an expansive sound that seems to share space with Bon Iver more than any other Vernon side project has before. And the way Volcano Choir is approaching this new release this "side project" might have gotten bumped up to a full blown rock band. Read more about the new album.

Tickets: Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Tuesday Sept. 3 at the Zorn Arena Box Office, from 8am-4pm. Tickets will also be on sale at the W.R. Davies University Student Center Service Center, but only  Sept. 4-6, 7am-9pm.  From  Sept. 7  until show, tickets will be available through all UWEC ticketing system options including online.
