Alexander Hamilton coming to Eau Claire?

Alexander Hamilton is a film that locals Matt Roskowski, Eric Koeppel, and Kevin Johnson are hoping to shoot in the Chippewa Valley this summer, featuring all local actors and musicians. The film – “a study of the absurdity of existence” – aims to show what the human existence is. Roskowski began the project as a novella over a year ago, but decided it’s a story better suited for film. Within the film, Roskowski hopes to convey a story he has been living for the past 24 years, one filled with common struggles to the majority of people young and old. “We aren’t so much trying to tell a story anymore, but convey an experience; an experience which may vary insomuch as how it is experienced, but an experience which still possesses a similar, shared, human essence,” Roskowski said. Catch all that?

The trio is deeply devoted to this project, having already completely drained their personal funds. In order to raise money for all of the equipment they need and other costs of creating the film, they are looking for donations. “We are very passionate about telling this story, and any donations,  big or small, will help us exponentially,” Johnson said.

Check out their indiegogo campaign below. It’s a large goal but perhaps the duo can be inspired by the successful Kickstarter campaign recently completed by the Eau Claire-based Acro Sessions project.
