Madison pubs fight back

Alyssa Schulte |

Two Madison brewpubs are standing by their craft brewers, refusing to sell MillerCoors beverages in a bold statement against those darn beer distribution provisions in Wisconsin’s budget. Solidarity.

I’ll back up for a second. Remember this issue?

Even though brewpubs shouldn’t be affected by the legislation, this issue has turned into a “you hurt them, you hurt us” sort of thing. Great Dane Pub and Brewing Co., along with Vintage Brewing Co., have dug in their heels, refusing to let any MillerCoors products touch their patrons’ lips. (At least while they’re in their establishments, at least.)

Brews by local craft brewers, however, are freely flowing.
