Volume One Announces Artist Line-Up for the 2011 Concert Series

Nick Meyer |

The last few weeks have seen a flurry of band booking for the new season of the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series, kicking off June 2 in Phoenix Park. Of the 39 acts set to play this year, 17 are brand new to the line-up (that’s 44% new talent!). Many of the recurring favorites are still in the mix (Mike Perry, Jim Pullman, Irie Sol, etc), and a number of new local bands (DIY Daisy, WI Built, Beacon James, etc), as well as regional bands with local histories (Conrad Plymouth, Anna Johnson, etc) are on board as well.

Once again RCU and Hillside Dental have stepped up as season-long supporters of the Concert Series. Also sponsoring the full season this year are newcomers Rock Fest and Sculpture Tour.

NEW THIS YEAR: Each week the official Concert Series After Party will be at the Fire House, just a few blocks away, where they’ll have specials and continued Thursday night action. Check out the After Party page for details. Also new, we’re introducing the official Twitter hastag for the concerts. If you’re tweeting or posting photos, be sure to use #Phark (V1’s playful abbreviation for Phoenix Park) in your tweets to make sure they make it into the feed!

Also, before you head down for the fun this year, take a look at our Reminders section of the Concert Series website to get the low down on details like alcohol, pets, restrooms, etc. And the Location page has a handy map of places you can park.

The staff of Volume One is looking forward to another great season in the park. Can’t wait to see you there!
