Ice Road Trucker to truck through EC

Such a trucker.

Such a trucker.

After spending two days signing autographs and meeting devoted Eau Claire fans, History Channel’s ice road trucker extraordinaire, Alex Debogorski, is coming back for round two – on Thurs. Dec. 9. But this time, he’s driving an even bigger rig. And he’ll be leading an honest-to-god convoy.

Last August, Eau Claire hosted 75 monstrous trucks that sparkled and dazzled with awesomeness (check out the photos). The 1st Annual Eau Claire Big Rig Truck Show featured trucks from across the country – along with Debogorski. Included on a long list of stops across the nation, Eau Claire’s truckin’ enthusiasts should be excited about our town’s spot on the itinerary.

That’s right – a bigger big rig. (And yes, that's a plasma screen.)

This new convoy is being documented by the History Channel, whose #1 rated series “Ice Road Truckers” and “IRT Deadliest Roads” feature the driver.

As Debogorski traverses across the nation, he’ll be promoting the release of his new book, King of the Road: True Tales from a Legendary Ice Road Trucker. Avid viewers know Debogorski is well versed in the life of a trucker crossing some of the most perilous frozen roads in America and surviving to share his experiences. Debogorski’s book includes stories about fighting bears and drunken miners, struggling to find a way across newly formed ice, and plenty more.

The convoy swings through town on December 9 from 10:30am-4pm, stopping at the Health Education Center at the Chippewa Valley Technical College. More: www.eauclairebigrigtruckshow.com
