Saturday: Valleycat IV

Matt Ledger |

If you're looking for the area's longest bike race, look no further than the Eau Claire Valleycat IV. The messenger-style race starts at 1pm, but bikers must arrive early to register and plan. If you think the Valleycat is going to be too much for you, remember that there's always the slightly tamer Valleykitten. (Rod & Gun Park, Eau Claire; 1 pm; $15)

CLEANING UP THE STREETS: Our City: 2010 Spring Spruce-Up | Join a whole bunch of like-minded volunteers in painting, planting flowers, and picking up trash in an effort to clean up downtown before Summer hits. In addition to the feelings of awesomeness you'll enjoy, you'll also get a free lunch. Free lunch! (Valleybrook Church, Eau Claire; 8 am)

JAZZ IT UP: Evening of Jazz with the Memorial High School Jazz Bands | All three of Memorial High's jazz ensembles perform while you either listen or, if you're really feeling excited, dance the night away. You'll also be able to enjoy deli style sandwiches and gourmet desserts, and bid on silent auction items donated by local artists and businesses. (Moose Lodge, Eau Claire; 6:30 pm; $10 adults, $5 seniors/students)

SINGERS WHO HAVE THEIR OWN COMETS: Haley Bonar | St. Paul based indie-folk singer/songwriter Haley Bonar shows off her soothing voice and sophisticated songs to cap off UWEC's 2010 Springfest. (The Cabin, Eau Claire; 8pm)
