UW-Stout hosts recycled art competition

Bailey Berg |

UW-Stout is hosting its third annual Recyclable Art Competition. Artists from the area elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as some adults, will be taking found recyclable materials and making their own unique art form. The competition, which is open to everyone in Dunn County, will be judged in four categories based on age level. For each category, two prizes will be awarded: Popular Choice and Judge’s Choice. In a country that produces almost 240 million tons of municipal solid waste every year – which, by the way, equals out to four-and-a-half pounds of waste per person per day, most of which is recyclable – the event shows the youth of Dunn County how to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
