Amble Down Records' folk pop group We Are the Willows have released a four-song EP in conjuction with their first debut full-length album A Collection of Sounds and Something Like the Plague. The EP, titled A Family. A Tree., seeks to smooth the transition from the Willows' previous stripped-down folk pop work to the full album's layers of sound.

Now what makes this EP extra special is you can opt to name your price for the download, or download it for free. So whether or not you lost your shirt betting on last night's Packer game, you can still satisfy that hungering desire for new local music.

This distribution method probably reminds some of you about Radiohead's pay-what-you-like campaign for Radiohead's digital download of In Rainbows in 2007, or Nine Inch Nails' "this one's on me" free download for their latest The Slip, or the other alternatives to album releases occurring in recent years.

We think this is a pretty cool way to get your music out there. Name your price on A Family. A Tree. here.
