Bring color and fun to your day while winter swirls around outside. Local artists will fill the 1,400 square foot Ayres Associates Gallery with art as, this is the time of the year when color, whimsy, and warm thoughts are most needed.

Wisconsin Landscape Palimpsests by Joe Mauer

Palimpsest is a manuscript or piece of writing on which original writing has been effaced to make room for later writing but of which traces remain. This show is a new set of large paintings by Joe Mauer. The image making process started by looking backward. Each painting was created on newspapers coated in wax from World War II.

Represents her most preferred current art medium, while habitually working long hours creating art out of pure enjoyment. Using a woodburning tool and a paint-wash technique, Joyce creates pieces on wood canvases that are influenced by her love for nature and animals.
