Pianist Stephen Ackert
From Chippewa Falls to the world stage, Stephen Ackert’s musical journey is nothing short of extraordinary. A 1962 graduate of Chippewa Falls High School, Ackert’s passion for piano and organ launched a globe-spanning career as a performer, scholar, and cultural ambassador. A Fulbright scholar who studied in Germany and earned his doctorate from UW–Madison, he has performed everywhere from Tehran to the Kennedy Center and led the music department at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
