Late Night Jazz: Hemphill Hecht Boettcher Trio
Eau Claire-based musicians Paul Hecht (keyboards) and Jeremy Boettcher (bass) are joined by one of Chicago’s most in-demand young drummers, Neil Hemphill, for an evening of genre-stretching, risk-taking improvised music. Paul and Jeremy have both played separately with Neil, but this evening will be the first time the three have played together.
Expect the freshness and excitement of a new musical combination, on pieces ranging from the most chestnutty of standards to demanding compositions by Bud Powell, Chick Corea, Carla Bley, Wayne Shorter, and Chicago’s own Matt Ulery.
