Sounds Like Summer Concert Series: D. Janakey + Hemma + Pit Wagon

The Sounds Like Summer Concert Series is Volume One's Thursday night gig in downtown Eau Claire's Phoenix Park. Local bands play to crowds each night on the banks of the Chippewa River in June, July, and August. Enjoy a pre-show set from area singer/songwriters at 6pm. Multiple food vendors will have food for sale. Pets are allowed at the concert.

D. Janakey

6pm

D. Janakey's transfixing sounds call to mind past lives weaved into stark yet powerful story-songs imbued with rich poetics. The DIY spirit unbroken in a world-weary voice anchored by songs of heartache and hard times.

Hemma

6:30pm

Hemma paints narrative landscapes of longing, lust, mistrust and deep intrigue for the art of the con, all in the vein of the illustrious pathways carved by Patsy Cline, Etta James, and Joni Mitchell.

Pit Wagon

7:30pm

Pit Wagon plays music for porch-sitters and sippers. With strings and voices, they share true stories that everybody knows — tough luck, rough nights, and rougher neighbors. Just like Wisconsin’s beer and cheese, their dirty country sound and lyrical folk wisdom leave a lasting and authentic aftertaste.
