Astronomy Day for the Chippewa Valley

Planetarium shows, activities and displays about astronomy for all ages. See a working radio telescope, meteorites, and telescopes. Learn about constellations, radioactivity, and infrared radiation and our own star, the sun. Sponsored by the UWEC department of physics and astronomy and the Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society. In the evening, Hobbs Observatory at Beaver Creek Reserve will host observing of the night sky from dark to 11 p.m. weather permitting. Hobbs Observatory is located across the road from the Wise Nature Center at S1 Highway K, four miles east of Fall Creek. Volunteers open the telescopes to the public most clear Saturday nights from May through October (cvastro.org for calendar)
