Best Campground

1st Place: Coon Fork County Park
2nd Place: Lake Wissota State Park
3rd Place: Brunet Island State Park

You gotta love our nine-time champion, Coon Fork Lake County Park, which has won this category for Best Campground every year since the poll started. Whether you’re into hiking, lying out at the beach, boating, or playing some volleyball, they have it all at Coon Fork. And, luckily, it’s only a short jaunt outside Eau Claire, near Augusta. Second place goes to the campground at Lake Wissota State Park near Chippewa Falls, which is the perfect place for taking the boat out on the lake or going for an invigorating hike or bike ride on the trails. Brunet Island State Park, coming in third this year, offers 1,300 acres of nature and wildlife, and it’s the perfect spot to kick back by the fire with friends. —Eric Christenson
