Best All Ages Venue/Hangout

1st Place: Phoenix Park
2nd Place: Acoustic Café (Eau Claire)
3rd Place: Irvine Park

The very definition of “all ages,” the shows to be found in Eau Claire’s Phoenix Park during Wisconsin’s warmer months most often include audience members ranging from “super hip senior citizen” to “super hip newborn.” This is why a local band could end up playing for a crowd of over a thousand people (like at the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series), as opposed to filling a local tavern to partial capacity. And more importantly, Phoenix Park allows young locals a good shot of live music they’d normally never see. Factor in a fantastic view of the river and a natural amphitheater, and it’s no wonder the park grabbed this year’s top spot. And in second place, garnering its fifth appearance in the top three of this category, its the Acoustic Café in Eau Claire, offering a comfortable all-ages atmosphere to enjoy food, coffee, and even a beer with local and touring singer-songwriters and the occasional open mic. In third place, you liked Irvine Park over in Chippewa Falls with its expansive lawns, gorgeous trees, and gazebo-style pavilion. – MP
