Worst Road

Our readers’ judgments about what constitutes the Worst Roads seem to be more related to traffic issues than the condition of the roads themselves. The U.S. 53 bypass, voted for its “aggressive/stupid driving,” is a sore spot among Chippewa Valley motorists. Maybe it got even worse when the speed limit was raised to 70, we’ll never know. Clairemont Avenue has been the host of many a car crash, thanks to its numerous stoplights and businesses matched with a higher speed limit of 45 mph. And “Anywhere within a quarter mile of Oakwood Mall” is always congested and busy, and that area is downright impossible to traverse between Black Friday and Christmas. – Briana Novacek
