Best Restaurant in Eau Claire

1st Place: Picahna Brazilian Steak House
2nd Place: Mona Lisa’s Restaurant
3rd Place: Houligans Steak & Seafood Pub

Just like last year, the contest for Best Restaurant in Eau Claire was among three well-loved contenders. The only difference between this year and last is that newer-established Picanha Brazilian Steak House (5020 Keystone Crossing, Eau Claire) edged out longtime local favorite Mona Lisa’s (428 Water St., Eau Claire) for the top spot. All three establishments offer truly unique, and great, dining options. Picanha offers an otherwise unavailable Rodizio experience to Chippewa Valley diners via its churrasco cooking style served to diners at their table by trained Gaucho chefs. Mona Lisa’s has a different Italian/Mediterranean style; they focus on using the freshest local ingredients (some from their own garden), modify their menu seasonally, and make nearly everything from scratch. Houligans Steak and Seafood Pub (415 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire) is known for aged, hand-cut steaks and famous Candied Garlic Sauce, all in a friendly old-style pub environment. You won’t be disappointed at any of these restaurants. –Lindsey Quinnies
