Best Campground

1st Place: Coon Fork County Park
2nd Place: Lake Wissota State Park
3rd Place: O’Neil Creek

When deciding to venture into the great outdoors, look no further than Coon Fork Lake County Park, which won this category for the eighth consecutive year. Whether you’re into hiking, lying out at the beach, boating, or playing some volleyball, they have it all at Coon Fork. And, luckily, it’s only a short jaunt outside Eau Claire, near Augusta. Second place goes to the campground at Lake Wissota State Park near Chippewa Falls, which is the perfect place for taking the boat out on the lake or going for an invigorating hike or bike ride on the trails. And if you don’t have your own boat, no worries! Canoes are available for rent at the park office. O’Neil Creek Campground outside Chippewa Falls comes in third, and it’s there for a reason: It offers pedal boats, mini golf, and train rides! If that doesn’t trip your trigger, maybe one of the themed weekends will. –Lisa de Felice
