Favorite Art Space

1st Place: Volume One Gallery
2nd Place: Tangled Up in Hue
3rd Place: The Acoustic Café (EC)

When you want to see some art but also maybe hear it, make it, taste it, or wear it, then you, my friend, are looking for an art space. Volume One Gallery (205 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire) snagged the top spot as your favorite with an endless stream of excellent local visual art, book readings, live music, spoken art, lectures, workshops, and film screenings. Combine that with cool vintage-y brick walls and the jolly V1 mojo and you’ve got a space the Chippewa Valley apparently loves to love. Coming in next, the artist collective Tangled Up in Hue (416 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire) is an egalitarian art explosion. The shop offers a huge amount of affordable art and craft work for sale, rotating spotlighted member artists, and live music on First Fridays. And your final favorite is Acoustic Café (505 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire), where visual art adorns the fringes of the busy, cheery artisan eatery known for featuring live music acts (acoustic or not) several nights a week. –Hope Greene
