You can say what you will about gimmicks like hourly line dancing, but ultimately the reason Texas Roadhouse’s parking lot is never empty is because they know steak. They’ve got no less than nine cuts (filets, ribeyes, sirloins, T-bones, et al), specially seasoned and aged, hand-cut and cooked over a gas-fired grill. This is their second year at the top of the poll, with Houligans occupying the top the three other years. Their medallions, New York strip, and prime rib are all to die for, with the candied garlic sauce being the thing that finishes you off. Grizzly’s wood-fired steaks snuck in there with their garlic butter mushroom, whiskey peppercorn sauce, and bleu cheese encrusted options. As did Duncan Creek, a downtown Chippewa bistro with a rotating menu of always-awesome seafood, Italian, and steak options. — TK
