Best Free Activity

1st Place: Concerts in Owen/Phoenix parks

2nd Place: Irvine Park Zoo

3rd Place: Tubing

There’s nothing better than free. Especially when free is fun. Local music lovers of all ages have assured us that the concerts in Phoenix and Owen parks are the best evening activities that require nothing but your music-loving ears. Whether it’s Tuesday Night Blues. The Municipal Band, or the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series, every week has something for your tastes. Second goes to the best little zoo in the Chippewa Valley: Irvine Park Zoo. With a surprising variety of animals, from monkeys to cougars and bears, oh my, this completely free activity is fun for the whole family. In third is the Chippewa River’s most popular and notorious activity: tubing. Grab an air mattress or floating pirate ship and journey from Phoenix Park down to the Hobbs boat landing. Just remember to be smart and safe, and it’s a free ride. — KH
