After watching all of the festivals and fairs around the Chippewa Valley get cancelled, Kyle Yudes from Castle Insurance Agency in Eau Claire knew he had to do something. He figured with the amount of room they have in their driveway, they could help support local food trucks, so he reached out and created a “Pop-Up Food Truck Frenzy” event slated for Thursday, July 23 from 11am to 3pm (or until food runs out) at Castle Insurance Agency (1717 Birney St., Eau Claire).

Yudes said he is planning for about six food trucks every four weeks through October. “It’s amazing how many food trucks are in our area,” Yudes said. The first two will be Live Great Food and Bubbles BBQ. Castle Insurance Agency will give out coupons for customers and pay the food trucks the coupons’ value in hopes of attracting more hungry locals.

Yudes hopes to keep attendance to fewer than 100 people at a time with social distancing, although masks won’t be required.
