Feed My People Food Bank is offering a number of pop-up food bank events around the Eau Claire area to address food insecurity during the COVID-19 outbreak.

TUESDAY, MARCH 24: Feed My People Pop-up Food Pantry in Fairchild

Time: 3:30-4:30pm
Location: Fairchild Community Center
Address:
121 Farmer St., Fairchild
Details: Those in need of extra food are invited to pick up some fresh produce, assorted grocery items, and non-food items.  Please bring your own bag or box to carry your food.  

FRIDAY, MARCH 27: Drive-Thru Food Pantry in Eau Claire

Time: 2:30-4pm
Location: Lakeshore Elementary Parking Lot
Address: 711 Lake St., Eau Claire
Details: If you are in need of some extra groceries including fresh produce and meat, stop by Lakeshore Elementary parking lot. This distribution will be conducted like a drive-thru to help limit contact. Sponsored by Feed My People Food Bank, it is free to you and you do not need to be a resident of Eau Claire to participate. No ID required. If you are on foot, please bring a bag/box to help carry your groceries home. Look for the Feed My People truck and signs to help find the correct entrance. 

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15: Pop-Up Food Pantry in Eau Claire

Details: If you are in need of some extra groceries including fresh produce and meat, stop by this monthly Pop-Up Food Pantry every third Wednesday. Sponsored by Feed My People Food Bank, it is free to you and you do not need to be a resident of Eau Claire to participate. No ID required. Please bring a bag/box to help carry your groceries home. Look for the Feed My People truck and signs to help find the correct entrance. 

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15: Pop-Up Food Pantry in Fall Creek

Time: 3:30-4:30pm
Location: St. James Trinity
Address: 305 S. State St., Fall Creek
Details: Are you in need of some extra groceries? Come to this free food pantry event to pick up some groceries bring a bag or box to help carry them home in. Distribution starts and 3:30 PM every third Wednesday of the month. Anyone in need is welcome and no ID is required. Brought to you by Feed My People and Chippewa Valley Street & Rural Ministry.

TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS: Weekend Kids Meals 

Feed My People will be delivering additional weekend kids meals to the middle schools to any student who would like one.

Time: 11:30am-1pm

ECASD will also be providing free breakfast and lunch to students on what would have been regularly scheduled school days while schools are closed.

Meals will include lunch for the current day and breakfast for the following day.

All meals will be free regardless of current eligibility status or location of
enrollment.

(SPRING BREAK: No breakfast or lunch will be offered during the week of Spring Break – March 23 through March 27)

Location: DeLong, Northstar, and South Middle Schools. Served outside the school in a "pick up and go" fashion.

Menomonie School District

The School District of the Menomonie Area is also offering free meals for children in need while schools are closed. Here are some details from the district website:

Free meals will be available for ALL children in the School District of the Menomonie Area beginning on Monday, March 23.  In order to have enough meals prepared for all children, we are asking that families please fill out this short online form or make arrangements via phone by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.

According to SDMA Director of School Nutrition Michelle Kloser, a "Grab & Go" cold breakfast and lunch will be available for all children (18 and under) in the SDMA.  Meals will be provided for each of the 10 days on which school was scheduled from March 23-April 3. Meals will be available to pick up from 11:00 am-1:00 pm Monday-Friday at Menomonie High School, Menomonie Middle School, and Wakanda Elementary School. The meals will be ready for you to take with you, not to eat at school.  Both meals will be at no cost to families.
