UWEC Faculty: 'No Confidence' in UW System Leaders

V1 Staff |

On May 25 the faculty at UW-Claire became the latest group of UW System educators to formally express their displeasure with UW System President Ray Cross and the Board of Regents. On a 227-98 vote, the faculty approved a “no confidence” resolution, saying (among other things) that Cross and the Regents had gone too far this spring in altering tenure rules and weakening the system. The resolution called on UW System officials to recommit to defending the Wisconsin Idea and ensuring access and affordability to higher education. Similar resolutions have been approved by faculty at UW-Stout, UW-River Falls, UW-Madison, and several other campuses.
