Action City Plans to Supersize the Fun

That roaring sound you just heard was a collective cheer from Chippewa Valley kids (of all ages) at the news that Action City is planning a major expansion to add all kinds of new indoor and outdoor fun. The fun center – which is located at Metropolis Resort on Eau Claire’s far south side – will be expanded in two phases, owners Shirley and Tom Hahn announced May 16. First, an outdoor expansion (tentatively scheduled for completion by summer 2017) will include a two-person motorized zipline which will carry thrill-seekers as high as 120 feet above the mini golf course. In addition, a much larger go-kart road course will be built. It will replace the existing outdoor oval track, and you’ll be able to speed around on brand-new karts. The second phase (set to be ready for fall 2017) includes a 35,000-square-foot indoor expansion featuring a trampoline park that will include a Ninja Warrior-style obstacle area. Construction permits are now being sought for the projects. Fortunately for fun-loving Chippewa Vallians, both the outdoor and indoor areas of Action City are expected to remain open during the construction
