Chippewa Valley philanthropists Richard and Marcia Larson recently made a capital campaign contribution of $1 million to support the Pablo Center at the Confluence’s ongoing programming. “It’s been gratifying to see how the local art and music communities have inspired the revitalization of downtown Eau Claire in recent years and the Pablo Center is at the heart of this movement,” the Larsons said. “We hope that this donation leads to even more gifts of this kind, all of which will solidify the long-term success of this incredible asset to the Chippewa Valley.” With this donation, Pablo Center will name the third story community rehearsal space the Richard and Marcia Larson Performance Gallery. “Richard and Marcia Larson are truly ensuring that the full potential of Pablo Center can be realized,” said Jason Jon Anderson, the Pablo Center’s executive director. “With this gift, Pablo Center is able to take a giant leap towards increasing our youth and family offerings.” Richard Larson has served on boards including Luther Hospital, YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, and the Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corp. He also helped found the Eau Claire Community Foundation in 1998 with a $1 million gift. “While our building makes Pablo Center unique, our community – patrons, members, business partners, constituent groups, and local artists - is who make us remarkable,” the Pablo Center said in a statement.
