Lauren Fisher |

More than 100 hunting, fishing, and recreational displays and exhibits will crowd the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls on Sept. 7-8 at the Wisconsin Game Fest.  Tickets are $9 in advance or $12 at the door, and children younger than 11 enter free.  More attractions are being confirmed every week, but for now, the convention boasts demonstrations in bow fishing, canine retrieving and diving, chainsaw carving, archery, and more.  A beer garden will be on-site for the grown-ups, and kids can enjoy a petting zoo of their favorite critters.  Adults and youths alike can compete in Air Rifle and Air Pistol contests presented by the Westgate Sportsman’s Club.  There are activities and exhibits for every interest, including fishing, hunting, and cruising over trails in an ATV.  The festival is also host to discussion and displays regarding conservation.  Thousands of dollars of door prizes will be awarded among attendees.  Tickets for the event are availabe online at www.wigamefest.com, or at local stops including Jacobson’s Ace Hardware, Family Fare, Tropic Waters, and the Westgate Sports Club.  The event runs 9am-6pm Saturday, Sept. 7 and 10am-4pm Sunday, Sept. 8.
