People of all ages will be amazed and amused by performers, activities, food, drink, and more at the Menomonie Airfest & Autorama Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Menomonie Municipal Airport. The fun starts early at 8am and rolls into the afternoon, beginning with a Pancake Breakfast and the fly-in, where the day’s performers and flying machines for display arrive for the festivities. An auto, truck, and motorcycle show will run throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to ogle the shiniest and classiest land transportation in the region. The Beer Garden opens at 11am, just in time for the Radar Run, where motorcycle enthusiasts will race their rides down the runway to show off their top speeds. Two hours of aerial cruising and stunts begins at 1pm, featuring pilots David Scott, Grant Nielsen, Erik Edgren, Susan Dacy, and Mike Weinfurter in a rainbow of aerobatic planes performing rolls, loops, hammerheads, and more. Kids will enjoy a bungee jumper, inflatable play area, bean bag toss, and characters from Disney’s CARS.  Tickets are $10, and children 12 and younger can come for free. Parking is free, too. More information about the airfest is available at menomonieairfest.com.
