Previous proposed concept for Liner Site.

The City of Eau Claire is going back to the drawing board for two downtown development sites. The city’s Redevelopment Authority has issued requests for proposals for 214 N. Barstow St. (known as Block 7) and 126 N. Barstow St. (the “liner site”). Last fall, the RDA chose Pablo Properties to develop the sites, but in June Pablo withdrew from the project, citing cost concerns. The requests for proposals ask that developers submit their ideas for the two parcels by 4pm Friday, Aug. 9. Block 7 is a temporary surface parking lot covering about 1.6 acres between Galloway and Wisconsin streets, and the liner site is about two-thirds of an acres between North Barstow and the new downtown parking ramp. According to the RDA, the parcels are located in a “desirable downtown corridor” and are zoned as a Commercial Business District, which would also allow for residential development. Questions about submitting proposals should be directed to Aaron J. White at the City of Eau Claire at (715) 839-4914 or aaron.white@EauClaireWi.Gov.
