It looks like 2016 is going to be a banner year for the restaurant scene in the Chippewa Valley. A handful of new restaurants have already opened this year throughout the area and several more are slated to do the same – most of them locally owned and a few of them offering menus and aesthetics truly new to the area. While some won’t open until late in the year, a few are coming fairly soon, and most of those you’ll see listed in the latest edition of Eat Scene. That’s right, tucked inside this issue you should find a copy of the 2016 issue of Eat Scene and Night Out – our flipable, dual-purpose restaurant and nightlife guide. With the continual growth of the Chippewa Valley’s food and drink offerings, this year the guide is truly bigger than ever, coming in at a whopping 128 pages. While the people of the Chippewa Valley certainly love new restaurant options, we need to keep in mind that truly local restaurants are not an infinite resource. They need constant support and word-of-mouth to keep running and to keep the culture of our local restaurant scene growing. Thankfully you can actually make a difference with that. Every time you decide to hit the town for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you have an opportunity to help keep a unique local establishment going. So feed your face wisely and encourage friends and family to do the same. Because the famous phrase “you are what you eat” applies to more than just an individual, it goes for the community, too.
