Free Clinic Seeks New Home

The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic is in need of a new home. The clinic, which provides free services to community members who can’t afford health care, announced March 1 that it needed to vacate its current location by June 1. The clinic had been given the opportunity to buy its current facility, 836 Richard Drive, but found that option was “cost prohibitive,” a press release stated. “The clinic’s funds are better used serving the low-income and vulnerable population with health care services,” said Executive Director Maribeth Woodford. “Our main concern is our patient’s welfare. This population group has so many challenges and barriers accessing health care already. We understand the inconvenience another move will bring, and we ask for everyone’s patience, understanding and support during this time of transition.” The clinic is working on both temporary and permanent solutions to its space problem, the press release stated.
