“Evening Harbor” by David Frasheski
acrylic, 18 x 24”, 2015

David Frasheski is an Illustrator and Plein Air painter from Kenosha. He is currently finishing his BFA in Game Design and Development at UW-Stout.

“Painting outdoors or ‘en plein air’ is a tradition passed down from the founders of Impressionism. Escaping the studio and painting out in the elements presents challenges that make an artist focus on only the important elements: Light, Value and Color. Plein air provides for a fresh, on-the-fly look that aims to capture the mood in as few strokes as possible. It’s also incredibly enjoyable to do!”  – The Artist

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a message.
