We Banjo 3
We Banjo 3

One of the world’s finest bluegrass bands is coming to Eau Claire for a special one-night-only show at The Metro on March 6. We Banjo 3 is a foursome of prolific and exciting musicians set to whisk the night away with fantastic tunes and a good cause. Featuring banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, percussion and beautiful harmonies, this Galway- and Nashville-based quartet comprises two sets of brothers, Enda & Fergal Scahill and Martin & David Howley, who collectively hold over a dozen “All Ireland” titles and are among the most revered modern musicians to come out of Ireland. Their latest release, Haven, spent 3 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass chart and received all kinds of rave reviews. For their latest tour, which includes the stop at The Metro, We Banjo 3 has partnered with Mental Health America to raise funds and awareness about suicide prevention and other prevalent mental health issues. The band will donate $2 from every T-shirt sold to MHA from now until the conclusion of the tour. For tickets, head over to www.volumeonetickets.org.

The Chippewa Falls Public Library and Converge Radio 99.9 FM are proud to host a brand new concert series on every other Friday in February through April at the library. Loosely based on series like MTV Unplugged and VH1 Storytellers, Unplugged at the Library will find local artists like The Broken Eights, Elves, Jim Pullman, Joyann Parker, and Pit Wagon performing songs broken up by interviews that explore each artists’ approach to performance and connecting with audiences. The first in the series is Feb. 22 with The Broken Eights. Each event is free and open to the public.

Local blues master Howard “Guitar” Luedtke is back with a new album called Meet Me In Muscle Shoals dropping at a CD release party Feb. 23 at The Plus, with opener Nick Foytik. This is the first album by Luedtke since 2016’s Goin’ Down to Alabama, and features many of the same talented musicians as that record. Luedtke recently returned for a performance with his band Blue Max after taking some time away from music to recover from lung surgery.
