Cari Raynae is a wife, mother, grandmother, and a retired Interior designer. As an artist she works in paper, watercolor, acrylics, and fabrics, sometimes collaging all media into a single piece.

“‘The Little Red Hen’ is a fun piece of art utilizing several techniques. For the first layer I dragged several colors of acrylic paint across the canvas. I outlined the hen in white before adding a layer of red to push the surrounding area back. Then the doodling, or zentangling began. This was the most enjoyable part for me. I let my imagination run free and used as many shapes as I could dream up to interpret the feathers of the chicken. I enjoyed making this piece of art. It gives me a joyful, happy feeling because of the bright colors and the strong contrast in the black doodling details. I will be making more art using these techniques and highlighting different subjects – stay tuned.”– The Artist
