All aboard! All are invited to come check out the standard-gauge toy train set on display soon at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire’s Carson Park. The three tinplate locomotives to be featured in the 384 square foot showcase will herald in the holiday spirit – and maybe Old Saint Nick as well. The train will be displayed Friday, Nov. 27 from 1 to 5pm and will run through Dec. 29 on Saturdays from 10am to 5 p.m., Sundays from 1 to 5pm, and Tuesdays from 5 to 8pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make museum appearances from 1-3 p.m. on the following dates: Nov. 27, Nov. 28 and Dec. 5, 12, 19, 22, and 26. Children will have the opportunity to whisper requests to Santa as well as receive their very own coloring book, conductor’s hat, and free candy cane. Afterwards, kids are invited to stick around and play with the decked-out holiday train. Weekend display admission is $9 for adults and $6 for children ages 5 and up (including museum fare). Admission on Tuesday evenings is $2, and regular museum entrance is free. For Chippewa Valley Museum members, admission is $2 any day.
