Rainmaster, Boxx Get Top Honors From EC Chamber
A lawn care and irrigation company and a sanitation firm have been named Small Businesses of the Year by the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce. RainMaster Lawn Systems, founded in 1999 by Paul Madsen in his basement, was honored in the 26-150 employee category. Boxx Sanitation, a waste and recycling company started by Joshua and Heidi Boxx in 2009, received the title in the 1-25 employee division. The awards were presented at the chamber’s 104th annual meeting April 17 at UW-Eau Claire’s Davies Center. Other award winners include Emily Moore of Feed My People Food Bank, who received the Woman of Achievement Award; the City of Altoona, which received the Community Development Award; and Gregg Moore, past chairman of the Eau Claire County board, who was honored as Public Employee of the Year.
