Millions of Elvis Presley fans were all shook up 40 years ago when the King checked out of Heartbreak Hotel and into rock ’n’ roll heaven. But if you’re one of those people with suspicious minds, you may wonder if Elvis still walks among us – at least in the form of award-winning tribute artist Garry Wesley, who embodies Elvis down to the last hip swivel and hunk o’ burning love. Seriously, check out his videos online: This guy’s almost too much! While he has toured the world (including Canada, Australia, Mexico, and South America) and the United States (including stints in Las Vegas and Memphis, where he’s performed during Elvis Week and been honored by the city), Wesley keeps his blue suede shoes in Necedah, Wisconsin. Sure, plenty of tribute artists grow their sideburns and try to croon, but they’re the devil in disguise while Garry is kissin’ cousins with the King. If you want to spend one night with Elvis in the Chippewa Valley, however, it’s now or never: Garry will be donning the sequin-covered jumpsuit at the State Theatre for one show only, on Feb. 17. Are you lonesome tonight? Then it’s time for a little less conversation, and a little more action: Get a ticket now before your order is marked “return to sender.”
