Bird is the word.
Bird is the word.

Take part in a nature-filled weekend from June 2-4 with speakers, birdwatching, canoeing, and much more. They Gaylord Nelson Audubon Society is hosting the annual Chippewa Valley Nature Festival, which gives attendees a wild amount of options from dawn until dusk. Both indoor and outdoor activities are available, ranging from a Making a Birdhouse Workshop for Kids to a Plant and Paddling Eco Tour at Braun’s Bay to a Nature Photography Workshop. If you enjoy learning about bugs or plants, the night sky or lakes, the Chippewa Valley Nature Festival has it all! Event director Nina Koch says the third annual event (previously known as the Birds, Bugs & Blooms Bash) “is designed for anyone interested in the out-of-doors, children and adults alike.” Koch especially recommends the keynote speakers, including Dr. Craig Allen, whose Saturday evening presentation will focus on the impact global warming has the world’s oldest forests. Get excited about participating in and learning about the outdoors, because all the “field trips” and speakers offered through the Nature Festival are just around the corner!
