It's Sign-Up Time for Senior Americans Day

Registration is now open for Senior Americans Day, the annual gathering of the 55-plus crowd at UW-Eau Claire that shows that age ain’t nothing but a number. Presented by UWEC Continuing Education and UW-Extension, the 29th annual Senior Americans Day is 8:30am-4pm Tuesday, June 6, at Davies Center on campus. Want to learn how to take better photos, create a container garden, boost your brain, or do tai chi? These are among the more than 40 breakout sessions on topics including creativity, health and wellness, cultural diversity, and history. There will also be a photo booth, free health screenings, exhibits, door prizes, and a keynote presentation by Dr. Stuart Robertshaw titled “The Healing Power of Humor.” The cost is $50 person, but there’s a $10 discount if you register online. In addition, buying one ticket will get you second ticket for half-price, so it’s a good idea to bring a date! The cost includes continental breakfast, lunch, entertainment, instruction, and handouts. To learn more, call (715) 836-3636, email ce@uwec.edu, or visit ce.uwec.edu/programs/senior-americans-day. In addition, organizers are seeking volunteers to help with the event. To learn more about that opportunity, contact Claire Lindstrom at couillcd@uwec.edu or (715) 836-3636.
