Eaux Claires wants you: Once again, the creative team behind the annual art and music festival is putting out a call for artists. Curators, designers, and creative directors will review all submissions, selecting the most innovative proposals for installations at the 2017 festival. Submitters are asked to include a proposed budget, installation timeline, ideal location, and other various requirements. Winning proposals will possess aesthetic intrigue, make a statement, and be able to withstand curious festivalgoers and inclement conditions such as rain, heat, and wind. Most importantly, submissions must connect to Eau Claire, the Chippewa Valley, or the state of Wisconsin to be considered. The Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival is all about diversity and experimentation, and its art installations are no exception. Last year, exhibitions included an interactive geometric sculpture and a massive wire-mesh rendition of a baroque pipe organ. In addition to visual art, the festival hopes to feature performance art and independent films. So whether you paint, sketch, sculpt, sew, knit, build, dance, act, or draw mandalas with your feet, submit your proposal along with a bio and statement of interest by March 31 to creative@ eauxclaires.com.
